SMOOTHIES!

Summer is here and as much as we’d like to continue to enjoy our diet of cake, cake, cake, something tells us we may regret doing so when it comes to getting to know our summer atire again. 

Therefore, in order to fit in our daily dose of sweet treats and not feel so guilty about it, we’re starting to do more exercise, eat more greens and get some vitamins! An easy way to achieve the latter is by making your own lean and healthy smoothies and each week we’ll do our best to share some of these with you.

Pink Berry smoothie:

 It tastes as good as it looks and is a perfect pick me up before/after the gym. Simply add the below ingredients into a blender and ta da! 

  • 1 scoop of lean whey protein (strawberry flavour) 
  • 1 banana 
  • 2 handfuls of frozen summer berries (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and currants) 
  • 175ml unsweetened almond milk 
  • 1 tbsp of Linwoods milled flaxseed, almond, brazilnut and walnut mix (optional)  
  • Handful of ice 

 

Super Green:

 I love a green smoothie! Not only do they give the impression (to those who do not me) that I am super healthy but they taste great when the balance between fruit and veg is right! This green machine will offer an instant vitamin and nutritional hit:

  • 2 handfuls of spinach 
  • 2 handfuls of chopped broccoli 
  • 1 chopped kiwi
  • 1 banana 
  • 1 handful of blueberries and/or red currants 
  • 175ml of unsweetened almond milk 
  • 1tbsp of Linwoods milled flaxseed, almond, brazilnut and walnut mix (optional)  
  • Handful of ice
