Easy home-made Lemonade

This refreshing drink shouldn’t just be restricted to the Americans. Similar to a cloudy lemonade (my favourite!) this bitter sweet variation is the perfect addition to any BBQ this summer and so easy to make. 


  • 4 large lemons 
  • 100g caster sugar 
  • 500ml boiling water 
  • 500ml sparkling water  


  1. Firstly, remove the peel from each of the lemons (leaving the pith) and then juice, removing all the pips 
  2. Next, add the sugar, lemon juice and lemon peel to the boiling water and stir until the sugar completely dissolves 
  3. Once cooled, add the sparkling water, stir and pour into a litre bottle 
  4. Serve with a slice of lemon and ice 

Easy peasy…  

Tip: If you want the lemonade to remain fizzy, I would recommend making and serving on the same day as it goes slightly flat when left overnight. It still tastes amazing though!
